Week 1 of the 2022 NFL season includes a showdown between the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings. Even after the Davante Adams trade, the Packers are still expected to be Super Bowl contenders this season. After last year's embarrassing opening week loss to the New Orleans Saints, look for a better start from Green Bay.

The Vikings hope that Kevin O'Connell can bring more success as their new head coach. Minnesota didn't have the most exciting offseason and still has an offensive line that's left much to be desired. The Packers enter this contest as the favorite on the moneyline and the spread. This 4:25 p.m. ET clash also features a total of 47.5, which is somewhat high compared to this week's NFL projected totals.

The No. 1 question around the Packers heading into this season surrounds their receiving group. With Adams gone, there's pressure on players like Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins and Christian Watson to step up. Fortunately, they have Rodgers to help them do damage against a Vikings secondary that gave up 252.9 passing yards per game in 2021 (No. 28).

While the Vikings should be solid again this year, I need to see more from their offensive line to have confidence in their passing game. If Cousins doesn't have time to find his wideouts, the Packers could put this one out of reach sooner than later.

Add in the fact that Green Bay is 4-2 straight up in its last six games against Minnesota, I'll take the Packers edging out their rivals.
