Week 9 of the 2022 NCAA college football season includes a SEC West battle between the No. 15 Mississippi Rebels and Texas A&M Aggies. Ole Miss suffered their first loss of the season last week at LSU, 45-20 after taking a 14-3 lead.

Meanwhile, Texas A&M is struggling through a losing season, and the Aggies play their first home games since Sept. 17.

Ole Miss vs Texas A&M Prediction & Pick

Texas A&M is 14-2 SU in their last 16 home games, and the Aggies enter this contest off three consecutive SEC road losses. The Aggies second-worst offensive attack in the SEC averages just 342 yards per game, and they have yet to score more than 24 points against an FBS opponent this season while averaging just 18 points per game.

Ole Miss still has the No. 1 Power 5 rushing attack averaging 255 yards per game against FBS foes. But they were without lead RB Zach Evans last week, and his status (hip) to play at A&M will be decided on game day. Still, freshman RB Quinshon Judkins now leads the team in rushing with 831 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns. The Rebels have played a weaker schedule thus far with their lone win over a quality team at home against Kentucky, 22-19. Ole Miss still had 400 yards offense against both Kentucky and LSU in defeat last week.

But A&M's defense is overrated from early season perception. The Aggies are allowing 192 rushing YPG vs FBS opponents. Add in a potential change at quarterback with 5* freshman QB Conner Weigman seeing action last week after Haynes King was KO'd vs South Carolina. The Aggies are scoring on only 27.4 percent of drives, which ranks 101st nationally. The pass protection has been dreadful, as Aggies QB's have been pressured (sacked, hit or hurried) on 45 percent of their dropbacks this season, the highest rate in the FBS.

Final Score Prediction: Ole Miss: 30 | Texas A&M: 24

Ole Miss vs Texas A&M Best Bet

Plenty of pundits calling for a bounce back from A&M at home. But with three offensive lineman out, freshman suspensions and a impotent offense under siege, these are tenuous times for A&M and crisis mode in College Station.

Head coach Jimbo Fisher runs the offense and calls the plays, but he's up against a stronger play caller in Lane Kiffin and the Rebels offense has much more firepower. Texas A&M out-gained their first FBS opponent this season in defeat last week at South Carolina. Do you trust the A&M offense this week?

Bet: Ole Miss -1.5 (-110)
