Ole Miss vs LSU Prediction & Pick

This is the Rebels first big road test, but Ole Miss has a strong balanced offense and is averaging 38 points per game. The Rebels offense average 501 yards per game vs FBS foes to LSU's 425, and Ole Miss is balanced and efficient with the top rushing attack of Power 5 teams averaging 278 yards per game. Quarterback Jaxson Dart lit up Vanderbilt on the road two weeks ago with 448 yards passing and 3 TD's, but he also has 6 INT's this season including 3 in the past two games and double-digit wins. Last week Dart had just 130 passing yards with 3 TD's, but the Rebels pounded the ground with 448 yards rushing on an amazing 69 rushing attempts with a trio of 100 yard rushers for the first time in nearly 50 years in an NCAA game.

LSU won at Florida last week 45-35, but the Tigers allowed 199 rushing yards on 34 carries. Tigers QB Jayden Daniels passed for a season-high 349 yards with 3 TD's. He's a duel-threat with more than 400 yards rushing and 6 TD runs while sporting a 10:1 TD-INT passing ratio. Still, Daniels ranks No. 55 in the country in QB Rating vs FBS opponents, and LSU was outplayed and outgained badly by Auburn but managed to pull out a 21-17 win. The next week LSU was blown out on this field by Tennessee 40-13 on Oct. 8. The Tigers allowed 263 rushing yards to the Vols and were shut down.

The Rebels offensive line has been superb, and LSU doesn't generate enough of a pass rush when Ole Miss turns to their passing game and top third down efficiency attack.

Final Score Prediction: Ole Miss: 34 | LSU: 27

Ole Miss vs LSU Best Bet

The Ole Miss defense leads the SEC in tackles and sacks (19). The Rebels play winning teams the rest of the way, and they have shown some cracks the past two games against offensively challenged Vanderbilt and Auburn allowing a combined 62 points.

Still, LSU remains overrated but they have been better converting third downs on offense. But Ole Miss fits a solid offensive profile to make it tough on LSU again with the Rebels pound the ground attack led by Quinshon Jackson's league-high 10 rushing TD's too much to handle.
