NFL MVP Odds Narrowing as Two-Player Race Emerges

Updated:

The NFL season is heading into the home stretch. Divisions and playoff seedings are really taking shape and every team pretty much knows what it has to do to reach the playoffs. Player awards are also taking shape, especially the NFL's MVP race.

2022 NFL MVP Race

Following Week 13 of action, the odds to win the NFL's MVP Award paints a clear picture of two players battling it out. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (+115) owns a slight lead over Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (+150), according to FanDuel Sportsbook's latest odds.

Mahomes has lead the Chiefs to a 9-3 record and the No. 1 offense in the NFL after many predicted a down year following the departure of Wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Mahomes leads the NFL in passing touchdowns (30) and passing yards (3,808).

Hurts, on the other hand, has lead the Eagles to the best record in the NFL, in the best division in the NFL, at 11-1. He is also enjoying a career year statistically. He has 20 passing touchdowns to only three interceptions. He has 2,940 passing yards, but has also been a monster in the run game as well, compiling 609 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground this season.

Who will be named NFL MVP ultimately will come down to who performs better over the last few weeks of the season.
