NASCAR Fantasy Picks for M&M's Fan Appreciation 400

Christopher Bell took home the checkered flag in last week's Ambetter 301. Now racing fans will turn their attention to Pocono for this week's M&M's Fan Appreciation 400 on Sunday.

As the next Cup Series race rapidly approaches with a 3 p.m. ET start time on Sunday, July 24, let's take a look at some drivers to consider when building your fantasy lineup to win the M&M's Fan Appreciation 400 at Pocono Raceway this week.

Pocono Fantasy Picks This Week

Denny Hamlin
History is on Denny Hamlin's side this weekend. He's dominated this track like almost no other, recording six wins here since 2006, which has tied him for the all-time lead with Jeff Gordon. Hamlin owns the best driver rating at Pocono since 2005, per Motor Racing Network, which shows no one is equipped to win here better than him. He's also coming into Sunday off of a 6th place finish last week, so that could give him the momentum needed to pull off his third victory here in four years.

Martin Truex Jr.
Martin Truex Jr.'s recent history and current driving form make him an attractive target in fantasy this week. He's finished top-11 in four of his last five races here, including a pair of top-6 showings. He also has wins from 2018 and 2015 to his name, so he knows what it takes to win at the Tricky Triangle. The long straightaways at Pocono require speed to contend, and Truex has proven he's got the horsepower by ranking fourth in laps led this season. Entering with two straight top-11 Cup Series finishes, Truex looks like a prime candidate to stay hot in Pennsylvania.

Erik Jones
Erik Jones could be a sneaky choice again this weekend. He's captured three top-7 finishes in his last eight Cup Series races, including a 4th place showing at Atlanta just two weeks ago. Jones also has noteworthy Pocono success, finishing top-five in five of eight races from 2017-2020. He obviously has a feel for this track, but at just +5000 odds (T-No. 20) to win the M&M's Fan Appreciation 400 on FanDuel Sportsbook, he's clearly being overlooked. With one model from numberFire's Jim Sannes giving the 26-year-old a nearly one-third chance (32.1%) to finish top-10, Jones could be a solid sleeper choice to fill out your NASCAR lineup.
