NASCAR Fantasy Picks for Pocono 325
After The Duel's top fantasy pick Ricky Stenhouse Jr. came up one spot short and finished No. 2 overall, Ryan Blaney took home the checkered flag in Monday's delayed 2020 GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Now the NASCAR world turns its attention up north to Pocono Raceway ahead of a loaded weekend for both Cup and Xfinity Series action.
Not to be confused with Sunday's upcoming Pocono 350 race, the Pocono Organics 325 in partnership with Rodale Institute is set for this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. EST in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. With that being said, let's take a look at what some of the industry experts have to say in their picks and predictions to win the Pocono Organics 325 on Saturday.
Pocono 325 Fantasy Picks
*Note: All career results rankings are among active drivers in this Saturday's Pocono 325 race with three or more appearances at the Pocono Raceway track unless otherwise noted.
Plain and simple, nobody has more wins (5) or a better winning rate (17.86 percent) than Denny Hamlin at Pocono Raceway. In fact, Hamlin took the checkered flag in the 2019 Gander RV 400 race the last time he set foot on this track last July. Hamlin has posted three top-10 finishes in each of his last three performances here as well, and his 39.29 percent top-5 finishing rate is the third-best mark in the field. Hamlin's 64.29 percent top-10 finishing rate also ranks fourth among Saturday's active field and first among active drivers with at least 10 performances at Pocono. Hamlin has also led more career laps (726) at Pocono than every over driver but Jimmie Johnson, who has accumulated just 17 more than Hamlin (743 total) in eight more career races here.
Kyle Busch doesn't exactly have the same kind of career numbers at Pocono that Hamlin boasts, but he has been the best driver on this track over his last four performances here. During this recent stretch at Pocono, Busch has booked two wins, three top-5 finishes and four top-10 finishes with a field-leading 3.50 average finishing position. Considering Busch had amassed just one win and five top-5 finishes on this track across 26 races prior to his last four showings here, it's safe to say he's been on fire in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, lately.
Erik Jones hasn't been a common name in our weekly NASCAR fantasy picks, but his impressive, albeit somewhat brief, résumé at Pocono is simply too hard to ignore. While, of course, more career races correlates to a higher (worse) average finishing position, Jones' career mark of 8.33 is the best (lowest) in Saturday's field, with six total races on this track to his name. Jones hasn't won an event at Pocono, but he still boasts the best top-5 finishing rate (66.67 percent) and top-10 finishing rate (83.33 percent) here.
