NASCAR Fantasy Picks for Coca-Cola 600

After Kevin Harvick took home the checkered flag in last Sunday's Darlington 400 race, the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series turns its attention to this weekend and the Coca-Cola 600 in North Carolina.

With the next race at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina, let's take a look at three drivers to consider when building your NASCAR fantasy team for the 2020 Coca-Cola 600 at 6 p.m. EST on Sunday, May 24.

Coca-Cola 600 Fantasy Picks

*Note: All career results rankings are among active drivers in this Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 race and on the Charlotte Motor Speedway track unless otherwise noted.

Martin Truex Jr.
Martin Truex Jr. is the defending Coca-Cola 600 champion after taking the checkered flag here last year. Having won this event in 2016 and 2019 with three total victories on this track overall, Truex Jr. is tied with Kevin Harvick for the second-most Coca-Cola 600 wins (2) and overall victories (3) at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Truex, however, leads Harvick in average finishing position (14.07), career winning rate (11.11 percent), top-5 finishing rate (25.93 percent) and total laps led (972).

Kevin Harvick
A winner of this event in 2011 and 2013, Harvick, on the other hand, leads Truex in total top-5 finishes (8), total top-10 finishes (17), top-10 finishing rate (47.22 percent), total top-20 finishes (25) and top-20 finishing rate (69.44 percent). Harvick also took first place at last Sunday's Darlington 400, which was the first NASCAR Cup Series race in more than two months.

Kyle Busch
Kyle Busch disappointed in last Sunday's NASCAR return at Darlington, finishing in just 26th place after starting at the No. 4 position as both one of our fantasy picks as well as the betting favorite to take first place this weekend, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. In fact, he was also the betting favorite to win the 2019 Coca-Cola 600 too, but finished two spots behind Truex Jr. in third. Even though Busch boasts just one victory here (2018 Coca-Cola 600), his 13 top-5 finishes, 43.33 percent top-5 finishing rate, and 18 top-10 finishes trail only Jimmie Johnson's marks of 16, 45.71 percent and 22, respectively, among drivers with more than five races here.

Jimmie Johnson
Speaking of Jimmie Johnson, as is the case with so many of NASCAR's premier races and tracks, Johnson holds the top marks in the majority of categories, including here at the Coca-Cola 600 and its Charlotte Motor Speedway home. Johnson boasts the most career wins (8), top-5 finishes (16), top-10 finishes (22), top-20 finishes (27) and laps led (1,930). Across 35 career performances on this track, Johnson also owns the best winning rate (22.86 percent) and top-5 finishing rate (45.71 percent). While Johnson hasn't won this particular event since 2014, his proven track record of dominance and success here makes him hard not to consider as a value pick.
