NASCAR Fantasy Picks for Auto Club 400 Race at Auto Club Speedway

NASCAR Fantasy Picks
After Joey Logano took home the checkered flag in last Sunday's Pennzoil 400 race, the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series turns its attention to March and the Auto Club 400.
With the next race at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California, let's take a look at three drivers to consider when building your NASCAR fantasy team for the 2020 Auto Club 400 at 3:30 p.m. EST on Sunday, March 1.

Auto Club 400 Fantasy Picks
Jimmie Johnson
Among all active drivers in this Sunday's race, no one has more wins (six), a better winning percentage (24.0 percent), average finishing position (7.60) nor led more laps (980) on this track than Jimmie Johnson. Johnson hasn't won this event since 2016, but across his 25 career performances at Auto Club Speedway, Johnson has clocked 23 top-20 finishes (92.0 percent), 17 top-10 finishes (68.0 percent), 13 top-5 finishes (52.0 percent) beyond his six total wins – all four of which lead active drivers in Sunday's race. Johnson has averaged only a 15.67 finishing position over his last three races here, but his outstanding track record makes it nearly impossible to discredit him as a viable fantasy play.
Kyle Busch
Kyle Busch may not have quite as many total victories on this track as Johnson, but he has been a much more relevant threat to take home the checkered flag at this event lately. Three of his four career wins on this track have come in this event, and Busch has won three of the last seven Auto Club 400s (2013-14, 2019). Unlike Johnson, however, Busch has been as strong as ever in his recent performances here, averaging a 4.0 average finish across his last three Auto Club 400s.
Kyle Larson
With just six career races at Auto Club Speedway, Kyle Larson has a much more limited sample size than some of the other names on this list. However, Larson has been an incredibly impressive in his showings here, already having won the same number of races (1) on this track as Kevin Harvick and Kurt Busch in 20 fewer races. Larson has finished in the top-5 spots 50.0 percent of the time (3/6), trailing only Johnson for the best career mark among all active drivers at Auto Club Speedway. As for recent performances, Larson has a 5.0 average finishing position over his last three races on this track, and he's finished in the top-10 spots of both major 2020 NASCAR Cup Series races so far this year.
