When it comes to past success at Homestead-Miami Speedway, look no further than Kevin Harvick. Harvick has an insane résumé here in 20 appearances, boasting the best average finishing position (7.40), most top-5 finishes (11), best top-5 finishing rate (55.00 percent), most top-10 finishes (17), best top-10 finishing rate (85.00 percent) and the second-most laps led here with 414. If that wasn't enough to summarize this kind of achievement, Harvick has placed in the top-20 spots in 19 of his 20 total appearances here.
Denny Hamlin doesn't have the entire body of work marks that Harvick has, but he does have one critical edge over Harvick where it matters most: wins, and winning rate. Hamlin has the best winning rate (18.75 percent) and most wins on this track (3) in the field this Sunday, and he also boasts the second-best top-10 finishing rate (68.75 percent) and tied for the third-best top-20 finishing rate at 87.50 percent. Hamlin also owns the third-best average finishing position at 9.94.
While he's still far from a dark horse, Kyle Busch and his +1000 odds to win this Sunday's race, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, provides a little more value upside than either Hamlin (+450) or Harvick (+550). Busch doesn't have the same body of work here as either of the first two names, but he's been arguably the hottest driver at Homestead-Miami as of late, bagging one win, two top-5 finishes and three top-10 finishes across his last three appearances here with a field-best 3.67 average finishing position in that same stretch.
