NASCAR Fantasy Picks for Coke Zero Sugar 400

Kyle Larson took home the checkered flag in last week's Go Bowling at the Glen. Now racing fans will turn their attention to Daytona for this week's Coke Zero Sugar 400 on Saturday.

As the next Cup Series race rapidly approaches with a 7 p.m. ET start time on Saturday, August 27, let's take a look at some drivers to consider when building your fantasy lineup to win the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Dayton International Speedway this week.

Daytona Fantasy Picks This Week

Chase Elliott

Chase Elliott has been listed as the betting favorite for several Cup Series races over the past few months and for good reason. This is a driver that has posted a top-10 finish in eight of his last 10 outings, including three wins and two runner-up placements. Elliott has come so close to winning a race at Daytona, too. He finished as the runner-up at the Coke Zero Sugar 400 in 2020 and as the runner-up at the Daytona 500 in 2021. Elliott's consistency is unmatched and it's never a bad idea to back a driver that leads all of NASCAR with 688 laps led this season.

Ryan Blaney

There's no denying that having track experience comes in handy for NASCAR drivers. That makes it worth pointing out that Ryan Blaney is coming off of a victory in the 2021 Coke Zero Sugar 400 and owns the sixth-best driver rating of all-time at Daytona, according to Motor Racing Network. He has always excelled on superspeedways and has shown a capability to avoid making costly mistakes as well. Blaney is in a fight to secure the 16th and final postseason berth. With that motivation tucked in the back of his mind, the 28-year-old has a legitimate shot to be the first back-to-back winner at this race since Tony Stewart in 2005-06.

Michael McDowell

NASCAR fans looking for a sleeper in this weeks' race should look no further than Michael McDowell. McDowell is in the midst of a career-best season and has momentum on his side right now. He has posted three top-10 finishes in his last five races, including a sixth-place finish at last week's Cup Series race. He is getting hot at the right time and has found success at Dayton before. He finished in first place at the Daytona 500 in 2021 and owns a total of eight top-10 finishes at this track. The fact that McDowell has just +4000 odds (No. 25) to win on FanDuel Sportsbook proves he's flying under the radar.
