NASCAR Fantasy Picks: 2021 Goodyear 400 Cup Series Race at Darlington Raceway
By Max Staley
After the aptly named Kyle Busch won the Buschy McBusch Race 400 last week, the NASCAR world will turn its attention to the 2021 Good Year 400 at Darlington Raceway.
With Sunday's next NASCAR Cup Series race rapidly approaching with a 3:30 p.m. EST start time, let's take a look at some drivers to consider when building your fantasy lineup to win the 2021 Goodyear 400.
Goodyear 400 Fantasy Picks
*Note: All career results rankings are among active drivers in this weekend's Goodyear 400 with three or more appearances at the Darlington Raceway unless otherwise noted.
Erik Jones Fantasy
Target Erik Jones: Erik Jones hasn't been great recently, failing to register a top-18 finish in three consecutive appearances. But his history at this track suggests he could be turning things around on Sunday. Jones has six career races here, recording four top-five finishes and one win. It's tough to pass up that kind of production, even if his recent history is a bit worrying.
Kyle Larson Fantasy
Target Kyle Larson: A lot of what is appealing about Jones applies to Kyle Larson as well. He's got three top-five finishes and five top-10 placements in his six career appearances here. Unlike Jones, he's never won, though he has finished in second before. Larson could be a boom-or-bust option, boasting one top-five finish but two finishes outside of the top 25 over his last five races.
Denny Hamlin Fantasy
Target Denny Hamlin: Denny Hamlin boasts the third-best average finish among active drivers here, trailing only the two names above him on this list. He's got a much more extensive track record than the other two, though. Hamlin owns nine top-five finishes and a whopping 13 top-10 finishes in his 17 career appearances here. That should make him a safe option with a high ceiling, which is a great combo for fantasy.
