It was just last year that Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy called out his players for not responding to a big-hit from the Washington Football Team on quarterback Andy Dalton.

Washington was at it again on Sunday, tossing quarterback Dak Prescott to the sidelines with a questionably late hit. Offensive tackle La'el Collins responded immediately, getting into a tussle with Washington's William Bradley-King before getting ejected from the game.

McCarthy was more than happy to stand up for his offensive lineman after the game.

While McCarthy maintains that he didn't realize a punch was eventually thrown and he "doesn't advocate" that behavior, he defended Collins in his postgame press availability. "LC did exactly what you're supposed to do there," said McCarthy.

It's clear that McCarthy's message from the 2020 season held weight with this year's Cowboys.

Dallas moved to 9-4 and a commanding lead in the NFC East division with Week 14's win over the WFT. Currently, the Cowboys hold +1200 odds to win Super Bowl LVI on FanDuel Sportsbook.
