The Seattle Mariners have had a busy offseason thus far, already trading for several notable players such as Teoscar Hernandez and Kolten Wong. Seattle is also getting back a familiar face in its bullpen next season.

Casey Sadler Mariners Contract

It was announced on Wednesday that the Mariners are bringing back veteran reliever Casey Sadler on a minor league deal. Sadler missed all of last season after suffering a shoulder injury in Spring Training but pitched for Seattle in 2020 and 2021.

Sadler was stellar for the Mariners in 2021, logging a 0.67 ERA and a 0.72 WHIP in 40 1/3 innings. He only gave up one home run that year as well and was nearly unhittable.

If the 32-year-old righty can come anywhere close to those numbers in 2023 it will be a massive boost for Seattle's bullpen. He probably won't be quite as sharp, however, given his career 2.86 ERA, 3.76 FIP and 1.15 WHIP.

Either way, Sadler has the potential to be a significant contributor for the Mariners next year as they try to return to the postseason.
