Knicks vs Nets Game Info

2022-23 NBA Regular Season Game

Date: Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022
Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
Venue: Barclays Center — Brooklyn, NY
Coverage: ESPN

In a national TV matchup that probably seemed a lot more interesting before the season started, the New York Knicks will take on the Brooklyn Nets for a clash between the Eastern Conference's No. 7 and No. 11 seeds on Wednesday night.

Both teams are underperforming preseason expectations so far, and a grim "can't look away from a car wreck" kind of intrigue follows the Nets into this one.

Knicks vs Nets Odds & Spread

All NBA betting lines, odds and prop bets are from FanDuel Sportsbook.
Moneyline: NYK: (+122) | BKN: (-144)
Spread: NYK: +3 (-110) | BKN: -3 (-110)
Total: 222 —Over: (-110) | Under: (-110)

For the sixth time this season, the Nets enter the game as the favorites. The Knicks, on the other hand, have been underdogs of 3 or more points in three of their last six games (this one making it four of their last seven). The over/under of 222 points is right in the middle of the pack on today's 13-game slate.

Knicks vs Nets Prediction & Pick

There might not be a team it's harder to get a good feel for than the Nets right now. After a truly horrific start to the season, however, they've won three of their last five with an average scoring margin of +8.4 per game during that stretch. Some of the shift could be attributed to the firing of Steve Nash, but it's also hard not to imagine the level of competition they're facing doesn't have something to do with it. Losses to the Milwaukee Bucks, Memphis Grizzlies and Dallas Mavericks don't exactly raise red flags, and now they're getting back in the win column against lesser teams. Tonight they get another one of those lesser teams.

The Knicks' losses are largely coming against top teams as well, but their overall stats leave more to be desired than the Nets'. The Knicks are getting out-scored by 1.8 points per 100 possessions (vs. 0.6 for the Nets), and they're shooting the league's 12th worst effective field goal percentage (compared to the 10th-best for the Nets).

I'm not going to call any individual Nets win a turnaround until we can see some sustained signs of life, but I do like them to at least take a step in the right direction here.

Final Score Prediction: Nets: 110 | Knicks: 105

Knicks vs Nets Betting Trends

- New York is 2-5 against the spread (ATS) in its last seven games.
- New York is 0-7 straight up in its last seven games against the Nets.
- Brooklyn is 4-10 ATS in its last 14 games.
- The total has hit the under in each of Brooklyn's last five games.

Knicks vs Nets Best Bet

The under has been a profitable bet on the Nets' all season despite their efficient offensive play. Now they're against a team that sits in the middle of the pack in pace (15th for the Knicks) that has also played stout defense (holding opponents to the NBA's fourth lowest effective field goal percentage).

The Knicks have been pretty neutral on the total (5-4-1 record for the over), and the Nets' pull toward the under should come through.

Bet: Under 222 Points (-110)
