There's no question, the hype around quarterback Justin Fields is brimming for the Chicago Bears fanbase. That was reinforced by his stellar Week 1 performance in an NFL Preseason matchup against the Miami Dolphins.

Teams love to play things conservatively when it comes to injuries (especially to quarterbacks) though, and has been the case recently with Fields was held out of practice on Wednesday with a sore groin.

But the news got better on Thursday after head coach Matt Nagy told media that Fields will likely play in Chicago's Week 2 preseason matchup against the Buffalo Bills, assuming his practice goes without hitch.

Justin Fields Injury Update

The Bears are eager to see another glimpse of Fields during live in-game action. The former Ohio State Buckeye was brilliant in Week 1, going 14-for-20 through the air with 142 yards and one touchdown to zero interceptions. He also showed off his talented dual-threat abilities, recording 33 rushing yards and another touchdown on the ground.

Andy Dalton remains the starting quarterback in Chicago, but if Fields continues to light it up during the preseason, this job will be his sooner than later. Currently, the Bears own +200 odds to make the playoffs on FanDuel Sportsbook.
