The 2022-23 college basketball season continues on Tuesday with a thrilling matchup between the Iowa Hawkeyes and No. 15 Duke Blue Devils. Iowa took down Georgia Tech by a score of 81-65 last Tuesday. Kris Murray balled out with 31 points (11-of-18 shooting) and a whopping 20 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Duke took care of business in a 75-59 win over Boston College on Saturday. Nine Blue Devils scored at least one bucket and were led by the efforts of Kyle Filipowski. The 7-foot freshman center posted a solid double-double (13 points & 10 rebounds) and only turned the ball over twice.

Iowa vs Duke Prediction & Pick

There's a unique storyline attached to this game. Iowa head coach Fran McCaffrey is aiming to earn his 500th career win, but it will have to come against a team he has never played head-to-head. The last time Iowa and Duke faced off was way back in 2001, so this one could truly go either way at MSG.

I'm ultimately going to give the edge to Duke. It is winning games despite an underwhelming offense thanks to its shutdown defense. The Blue Devils are only allowing 58.7 points per game (No. 18 in NCAA) on a 39.8% shooting mark (No. 51 in NCAA). They rank 34th in defensive efficiency overall.

Duke is also 15-5 straight up in its last 20 games against the Big Ten, so I'll ride with the Blue Devils.

Final Score Prediction: Iowa: 67 | Duke: 72

Iowa vs Duke Betting Trends

- Iowa is 11-4 against the spread (ATS) in its last 15 games.

- Duke is 15-5 straight up in its last 20 games against a Big Ten opponent.
- The total has hit the under in seven of Duke's last 10 games.

Iowa vs Duke Best Bet

As mentioned above, Duke has played stellar defense in 2022. It shouldn't be overlooked that Iowa has, too. The Hawkeyes force just under 15.0 turnovers per game and only commit 13.0 personal fouls per game (No. 8 in NCAA). That clean style of play makes them a tough opponent for any team.

Great defense usually results in a low-scoring game. After all, the total has hit the under in four of Iowa's last five games as well as in seven of Duke's last 10 games. The under has also cashed in each of the last four neutral site games for both the Hawkeyes and the Blue Devils. Trust the trends here.

Bet: Under 146.5 Points (-110)
