Felix Anudike-Uzomah Scouting Report
Anudike-Uzomah showcased a bit of his potential as a freshman at Kansas State when he logged a sack in his only appearance. He then broke out in a major way as a sophomore, tallying 50 total tackles (11.0 for loss) to go along with 11.0 sacks and a whopping 6 forced fumbles (No. 1 in FBS).
The Missouri native earned first-team All-Big 12 honors for his performance and followed up with another great season in 2022. Anudike-Uzomah was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year as he racked up 46 total tackles (11.0 for loss), 8.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles across 14 games played.
Highlighted strengths of Anudike-Uzomah's game revolve around his fundamentals. He possesses an explosive first step and stellar lateral agility, which makes him a dangerous pass rusher. The Kansas State standout also has a deep arsenal of moves (jab-swipe, rip move, etc.) to get to the quarterback.
Anudike-Uzomah is far from a perfect prospect, though, as he doesn't thrive nearly as much when asked to line up on the interior and lacks the physical strength to battle through double teams in rushing defense. Nevertheless, Anudike-Uzomah profiles as a dynamic outside NFL edge rusher.
Felix Anudike-Uzomah NFL Draft Prediction
Anudike-Uzomah is capable of transforming an NFL team's pass defense given his non-stop motor and ability to get into the backfield. He fits best on a team that has a solid rush defense in place as that is an area he needs to work on. The Kansas City Chiefs makes a logical landing spot as a result.
The Chiefs finished eighth in rushing yards allowed per game last season (107.7) and while they also finished second in sacks (55.0), most of the production came from blitzing packages. Drafting a guy like Anudike-Uzomah would provide George Karlafits with a capable partner in the edge-rush group.
Keep in mind the Chiefs have not re-signed Frank Clark, either, meaning a roster gap exists at the position and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is likely itching to fill it. The Chiefs are going to have to reach for Anudike-Uzomah given he likely won't be available at their second round spot (63).
Prediction: Kansas City Chiefs (Round 1, 31 overall)
