Mississippi State's Emmanuel Forbes has been one of Mississippi State's best defenders over the last three years, earning him some well-deserved hype ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft. He might not be a top-10 selection, but you'd have a hard time finding a team that doesn't like something about his potential.

Emmanuel Forbes Scouting Report

Emmanuel Forbes saved his best performance for his final year with the Bulldogs. The Mississippi State cornerback tallied a career-high 10 broken-up passes and 6 interceptions — three of which were returned for touchdowns. It was also the second time in three seasons that he led the entire NCAA in pick-sixes and interception return yards (174).

Forbes' leaping ability and speed are two reasons why he's a terrific defensive playmaker. He knows how to get down the field quickly and can even change directions mid-air, earning him the reputation of being one of the top ball hawks in the draft class.

Scouts would like to see Forbes bulk up, though, considering that he's only 166 pounds. He also lacks discipline at times due to his being overly aggressive. Assuming he can be reined in and add some muscle, his weaknesses aren't that bad compared to others.

Emmanuel Forbes NFL Draft Prediction

It'll be interesting to see how long Emmanuel Forbes remains on the board later this month. While the majority of draft experts peg him to be a Day 2 selection, no one would bat an eye if he's off the board by the end of the first round.

Several teams could use some cornerback help, including the Baltimore Ravens. It's an area of need for them, especially after surrendering 23.2 completions (No. 26) and 229.4 passing yards (No. 23) per game in 2022. While they have a few CBs signed, none have the upside that Forbes brings to the table.

Having said that, the Ravens can't afford to wait until Day 2 to draft Forbes. Chances are he'll be off the board by their first pick of the day (Round 3, No. 86). With the potential to be an elite cornerback one day, it's in Baltimore's best interest to take Forbes in Round 1.

Prediction: Baltimore Ravens (Round 1, 22nd overall)
