The Philadelphia Eagles' offense got some much-needed good news on Wednesday, as Zach Ertz has been activated off of the injured reserve. This puts him firmly on track to play in Week 13, though nothing is set in stone quite yet.
Still, this offense needed a boost, and Ertz is more than capable of giving it to them.
Ertz didn't really look like himself early in the year, averaging 29.7 receiving yards per game over his first six appearances. That represented the worst such mark of his career since his rookie season, and he hadn't been below 43.9 receiving yards per outing since 2014.
But even if he's not the same player who made three straight Pro Bowls from 2017-19, his presence will be huge for this offense. At the very least, Ertz should regain TE2 duties from Richard Rodgers while ceding the TE1 role to burgeoning star, Dallas Goedert.
Any way you look at it, getting Ertz back is going to be huge for Carson Wentz and the Eagles.
