While the NFL schedule is set way before the start of the season, sometimes small tweaks are made to starting times in-season.
That's exactly what's happening in Week 14. The Miami Dolphins and Los Angeles Chargers were originally scheduled to play at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday, Dec. 11, but now the NFL has "flexed" the game for a Week 14 Sunday Night Football slot.
This Week 14 Sunday Night Football slot was originally held for the Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos in an fierce AFC West battle.
It's safe to assume the NFL opted for this "flex" because of a general lack of interest and importance in the Chiefs-Broncos matchup. Denver sits at just 3-8 in what's become a disaster season and has no business playing in primetime with a better option on the schedule, such as Dolphins-Chargers. Kansas City is one of the best teams in the NFL, yet again, but even their prowess cannot trump the poor product Denver displays each and every week.
The Dolphins vs Chargers features a matchup between two of the best offenses in football. The Dolphins rank top six in both points and yards gained while the likes of Austin Ekeler and Justin Herbert mean LA puts on an offensive show every Sunday.
