Davante Adams Injury Update Puts His Fantasy Outlook in Question

Davante Adams left the Green Bay Packers Week 2 matchup with the Detroit Lions due to a hamstring injury. Initial reports were that the strain was not too serious, and that Adams even wanted to get back in the game, but head coach Matt LaFleur decided to air on the side of caution.

Coach Matt LaFleur said Adams wanted to return to Sunday's game. Long season and need him healthy. One to monitor.
Davante Adams Week 3 Injury Update
You would think that based on the initial comments from both Adams and LaFleur, the wide receiver will have no problem suiting up for a crucial game against the possible NFC Playoff opponent New Orleans Saints. Still, here we are on Wednesday with no word of Adams practicing.
Chances are the Packers will continue be tread carefully with their star, possibly even holding him out all week just to let his leg rest. After all, Adams is really the only weapon of note in the Green Bay offense, outside of running back Aaron Jones.
When Adams missed four weeks in 2019 with a turf toe issue, the franchise was really strapped throwing the football. He accounted for 30.3 percent of Green Bay's target share, according to Player Profile, and 39.7 percent of the Packers' red zone target share. This ranked him third in the NFL.

The Saints have a similar problem right now, with Michael Thomas most likely out again for Week 3. It'll be a shame if neither of these two are available for what should have been a faceoff between two of the best teams in the entire league.
Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling are the first men up behind the dominant number one, should he miss time. Should Adams play though, he will likely be up against Marshon Lattimore.
