Updated:

The new year begins with the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions on the coastline of Maui and the luxurious Plantation Resort. A total of 39 players make up the tournament field qualifying as 2022 PGA Tour event winners along with top-30 finalists from the Tour Championship.

The long 7,596 yard par 73 Plantation Course plays shorter with elevation. The huge table-top Bermuda greens average nearly 8,700 square feet, and a shootout and birdie-fest will be fun to watch if the winds remain calm or moderate.

Xander Schauffele joins other top players and favorites as one's to watch and wager on during the event. He's one of 17 of the top 20 golfers in the world rankings taking aim at the $15 million prize pool and nearly $1.5 million to the winner.

But beyond the favorites, there are plenty of capable longshots and dark horses that could make a run at the leaderboard and come away with a higher finish or victory on Sunday. Check out the players Sentry Tournament of Champions odds to win along with finishing position odds, tournament matchups and golf props on FanDuel Sportsbook.

1. Sungjae Im (+1900)

Sungjae Im has finished T-8 and T-5 in his two appearances in the Tournament of Champions, and shot at least -20 under par in both events. Im led the field in strokes-gained tee-to-green on his 2021 debut in the event. He's remained consistently strong across the board, is playing well the end 2022 and had three runner-up finishes to close into the FedEx Cup Playoffs. The 24-year-old South Korean has gained strokes putting in seven straight events, and if his putter performs well, Sungjae Im is a main contender.

2. Jordan Spieth (+2700)

Jordan Spieth won the TOC in 2016, and followed it up with a T-3 and 9th place finish. He finished T-21 last year in his only appearance since the course was revamped in 2020. We know he can play well in windy conditions, and the 29-year-old Texan's odds are more than double when he entered last year's Tournament of Champions event. But like Augusta where he's Green Jacket winner, Spieth is creative and can regain his form to score well with wide targets off the tee, sidehill lies, and severely undulating greens part of his skillset to perform.

3. Hideki Matsuyama (+4000)

Here's another Master's champion whose game fits the course and conditions. Matsuyama's game and form fell way off the second half of 2022 after finishing T-4 at the U.S. Open. But the 30-year-old Japanese star's results at the Tournament of Champions cannot be ignored. He finished T-13 here last year at -21 under par, and has three other top-5 finishes at the Plantation Course.
