The Los Angeles Lakers were never going to be at full strength entering the NBA bubble. They were shorthanded to begin with, as Avery Bradley elected to sit out and Rajon Rondo hasn't been able to play due to a broken thumb.
Even with slightly lowered expectations, though, this team has underwhelmed.
Los Angeles is 3-4 since the season restarted, and those wins have only come by an average margin of 4.3 points per game (PPG). That has had an adverse effect on the team's ability to cover the spread, as the Lakers are 1-6 against the spread (ATS) since the season picked back up.
In the team's defense, these games don't matter much as they've already locked up the No. 1 seed. And seeding doesn't even matter as much as it used to since home court advantage isn't a thing anymore.
But Lakers fans were surely hoping to see the Western Conference favorites (+165, per FanDuel Sportsbook) look a little better in the Bubble.
In the meantime, savvy NBA bettors have surely enjoyed wagering against the team.
