Chase Edmonds was forced to leave the Arizona Cardinals' Week 9 game early due to injury, and James Conner feasted in his absence. Conner saw extensive work on the ground and even a bump in his receiving role with Edmonds sidelined.

Chase Emonds Injury Update

The latest injury update on Edmonds could mean big things for Conner's fantasy outlook going forward.

James Conner Fantasy Outlook

Conner should continue to feast as the Cardinals' clear RB1 with Edmonds possibly out for 4-6 weeks due to an ankle sprain.

Conner turned in his best performance of the year without Edmonds on Sunday. He racked up season highs in rushing attempts (21), rushing yards (96), targets (5), receptions (5), receiving yards (77) and total TDs (3).

That resulted in a whopping 40.3 PPR points, showcasing his potential production as the clear lead.

Conner is now in an extremely attractive position as the RB1 of an offense that will continue to protect big leads all season. Arizona has also averaged the third-most rushing attempts per game (31.6), meaning there's plenty of carries ahead for the fifth-year pro.

The increase in rushing work and added receiving use makes Conner a no-doubt starter for as long as Edmonds is out.
