FanDuel Extends Partnership With IGT

FanDuel and IGT have officially announced an extended partnership.
FanDuel and IGT have officially announced an extended partnership.

IGT has been a long-standing partner of FanDuel since 2018, collaborating on retail sportsbooks across 9 American states. Since then, IGT has played a significant role in achieving the expansion goals of FanDuel as cited by FanDuel Group CEO, Matt King. Two of the most prominent collaborations include the highest volume brick and mortar sportsbook in the United States, Meadowlands Racing, and one of the top volume retail sportsbooks in Pennsylvania, Valley Forge Casino.

The developer's PlaySports platform provides one of the best high-tech and intuitive sportsbook experiences, and the IGT PlayCasino platform is set to join in, according to the terms of the recent agreement. The new partnership deal that was signed on August 3 grants IGT the right to power all of FanDuel's retail sportsbooks until 2024. Under the multi-year agreement, the software company will also have greater access to FanDuel online casino sites for New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

IGT Software – A Top Performer on The Market

Since its founding in 1951, International Games Technology has been the brains behind some of the best land-based casino games. From delivering its services to brick and mortar venues, IGT quickly went virtual following the advent of online gaming. They currently have a strong presence in over 100 countries and a catalog of hundreds of games, from gaming machines to lotteries and online releases.

As one of the largest B2B gaming software providers globally, IGT offers a mobile gaming platform that hosts an array of games developed in HTML5 to support gaming on the move. The developer's quality standard is undoubtedly the catalyst that has driven it for over 60 years. This new partnership aims to grow the already successful endeavor for both the companies and customers.

Following the signing, IGT's PlayDigital Senior Vice President Enrico Drago said, "IGT and FanDuel Group are positioned for continued success in the U.S., and we are committed to fueling FanDuel Sportsbooks' sustained growth through our proven, market-ready platform, player-preferred game content, and self-service betting technologies."

Current Milestones

The idea to extend the partnership stems from the massive success achieved together in the past two years, including:

  • The launch of FanDuel retail sportsbooks in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, West Virginia, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, and Mississippi
  • The launch of online sportsbooks in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana, and Colorado
  • 200 self-service FanDuel kiosks in various locations across the country

IGT has clearly given FanDuel a boost in its operations, and expectations are high for the years to come.

What To Expect From This New Phase

The deal focuses on expanding the presence of IGT games within the FanDuel platform. First, IGT's PlaySports platform will power all FanDuel's new and existing sportsbooks for the next four years. Second, IGT's range of Play Digital's Play Casino games, including slots and table variants, will be available in all legal U.S markets where FanDuel operates.

The FanDuel casino library currently features a few IGT titles such as Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin, Triple Hot 7s, and Red Hot Tamales. Now, more games are going to be added in the mix, including titles like Cleopatra, DaVinci Diamonds, and Siberian Storm. IGTs live studio offerings are also expected to debut on the FanDuel site providing the land-based experience in a digital format.
