Bengals Players Blast Ravens for Dirty Play During Week 18 Game

Bengals Players Blast Ravens for Dirty Play During Week 18 Game

Updated:

The Cincinnati Bengals played well in Week 18, avoiding the need for a home-field coin toss by beating the Baltimore Ravens with a score of 27-16 on Sunday. But, all that meant was a rematch of these AFC North rivals during Wild Card Weekend, and one that would be played at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, OH.

The fireworks always flare when these two rivals meet. That was no exception in Week 18. After the win, several Bengals players put the Ravens on blast for their dirty play throughout the contest.

Below are a couple of quotes from various members of the Bengals defense.

“I don’t want to get into details, but somebody on that team..." stopping himself. “We’ll see ’em next week. That’s all I’m saying," said Joseph Ossai.

DJ Reader added on, saying "I don’t really have much to say about that team over there. I have respect for some guys over there, and I don’t for some. There was some s*** I don’t agree with."

Cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt added the most context to the situation, clarifying what some of the Ravens were doing. “There was a lot of cheap s*** going on. Just know that we owe them. Even though we won this s***, we owe them." He went on to explain "It was a lot of late stuff. Just after the play, doing dirty stuff you shouldn’t do in football. Aiming at guys’ legs and stuff and other dirty hits. We don’t play like that. We’re gonna remember that.”

These quotes won't come as a surprise to Bengals players. Baltimore has always been known to play a fierce defense, and one that can play close to that borderline each and every week.

But, at least it's extra motivation heading into Wild Card Weekend. The teams square off on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 8:15 p.m. ET on NBC. FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds show Cincinnati as 6.5-point favorites.
