The Chicago Bears suffered losses on multiple fronts in Week 12. Not only did they get blown out by the New York Jets, but safety Eddie Jackson went down with a non-contact injury that looked very concerning.
The latest on Jackson is downright terrible news for Chicago.
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports Jackson likely suffered a "significant" Lisfranc injury against the Jets. He's still evaluating his options, but is out indefinitely.
This type of ailment is notoriously troublesome for athletes. The injury usually carries a lengthy recovery timeline for players, and hearing that Jackson's is on the more severe side is not a great sign for his 2022 season.
The former First Team All-Pro talent had bounced back this year after two down campaigns. He racked up four interceptions in just 12 games played, adding two forced fumbles and 80 total tackles as well.
This injury is a huge blow to Chicago's defense, which has already struggled during the team's current five-game losing streak. They'll try to get back on track without their stud safety in Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers.
