It's taken a lot of misfortune, including injuries to A.J. Green and John Ross, but Auden Tate is having an impressive breakout in his sophomore season. He didn't play in Week 1 and saw limited work in the Cincinnati Bengals' Week 2 loss, but he has since tallied 33 targets across his last four games, racking up 255 yards and one touchdown on 18 receptions.

Reports surfaced Sunday morning claiming that A.J. Green is still not especially close to a return, and that gives Tate's fantasy value a nice boost.

Since he moved into the Bengals' starting lineup in Week 3, Tate is tied for 12th among NFL wideouts in targets. He's only five targets behind Tyler Boyd for the team lead over that span as well, and serving as more of a downfield threat than Boyd, Tate has a team-high 314 air yards across the last four weeks.

Efficiency is always going to be a concern in one of the NFL's worst offenses, but averaging more than eight targets per game is not something you're going to want to ignore in fantasy football.

Green's return has been looming all year, but this latest update is great news for Tate's fantasy value.

Against a Jacksonville Jaguars' secondary that is now without Jalen Ramsey, Tate sits at WR31 in our Week 7 PPR fantasy football rankings, and his volume should allow him to continue serving as a solid WR3 or FLEX option for as long as Green is on the shelf.
