The 2022 World Series shifts to Citizens Bank Park for Game 3, setting up a historic showdown between the Philadelphia Phillies and Houston Astros.
According to ESPN Stats and Info, there's never been a World Series matchup quite like this.
The Phillies have not lost at home in over a month, as their last home loss came on Sept. 25 against the Atlanta Braves. The Astros are in a similar position, however, as they haven't lost on the road since Sept. 23 in Baltimore.
Accordingly, Game 3 on Monday will be the first World Series game ever between an undefeated home team and an undefeated road team in the playoffs (min. three games). Philadelphia is a perfect 5-0 at home during the postseason, while Houston has gone 3-0 away from Minute Maid Park. One of those streaks will come to an end during Game 3, however.
Despite the Phillies' dominance at home during the playoffs, the sportsbooks still favor the Astros. Houston is listed as a -132 moneyline favorite for Game 3 on FanDuel Sportsbook's MLB odds, making Philadelphia +112 underdogs at home. Both teams are looking for a win in this pivotal swing game after splitting the first two games in Houston.
