Outfielder Anthony Santander is not immune to these trade rumors, especially after a feverish start that shows him on pace to set career-high marks in home runs and RBIs. Santander recently opened up about these trade rumors with a classy, mature response.

Santander spoke with Orioles insider Roch Kubatko, playfully dismissing the trade speculation. It comes down to one main factor, that it's simply beyond his control.

The reality for any of Baltimore's veterans is the presence of the league's best minor league farm systems. Baltimore ranked No. 1 as of last year, and maintained the top spot heading into the 2022 preseason.

Baltimore has a pair of outfielders patiently waiting for their chance. Colton Cowser ranks No. 3 across the organization, but has not yet played above Double-A. There's also No. 7-ranked Kyle Stowers, who made his MLB debut a month ago.

Santander is an attractive trade piece for teams around baseball because of his contract. The veteran outfielder is under team control through 2024. His ongoing power surge will continue to sweeten the market.
