The Philadelphia 76ers are battling for a top-three seed in the East right now, but they've been doing so without their star center, Joel Embiid.

Coming off a tight home loss to the Warriors, the 76ers hope to get back on track tonight when they host a surprising Magic squad that's currently the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. But while Philly is a 3.5-point favorite, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, it will play its sixth straight game without Embiid.

This season, the 76ers haven't been great straight up or against the spread without him.

Embiid is averaging a career-high 27.3 points and 13.5 rebounds this season and his production has been sorely missed. According to Covers, the 76ers are 3-5 straight up (SU) when he doesn't play and 2-6 against the spread (ATS). Lately they've been better, however, going 3-2 SU without Embiid since the All-Star break.

As mentioned, the 76ers are 3.5-point favorites against the Magic tonight on FanDuel Sportsbook. The Magic beat the 76ers, 111-106, in Orlando the last time they played this year and the 76ers beat the Magic, 116-115, at home in October.

While a championship-caliber team at home against a sub-.500 squad seems like an easy bet, the 76ers' history without their big man suggests otherwise.
