It just doesn't look like anyone is going to top the Kansas City Chiefs both on the football field or against the spread.


I know this sounds like a broken record at this point, but the Chiefs remain at the top of the ATS rankings thanks to an incredible 8-2 record against the spread. Amazingly, their record on the field (9-1) is better than their record ATS (8-2).

Seeing Kansas City atop the list and the Saints nipping at their heels at 7-2 should come as no surprise at this point as both those teams have been dominant on the field. However, what's really eye-popping is how bettor-friendly the Steelers have been, going an incredible 5-0 against the spread during their current five-game winning streak. That means through Week 4, they were 1-3 ATS. Nothing a little winning streak can't fix.

​Another streak, but in the other direction is the New York Jets. They're an identical 3-7 on the field and against the spread, going 0-4 against the spread during their current four-game losing streak.

​It seems like there's a correlation between winning and losing games and winning and losing against the spread recently, so consider riding the hot hand or betting against a team vying for the No. 1 pick in next year's NFL Draft. Those are both viable ways to go.
