Not one, but two running backs are currently on pace to break a single-season NFL record. That record for most receptions by a running back was set back in 2014 by former Chicago Bears great Matt Forte with 102 receptions.

Now, halfway through this season, both Saquon Barkley and James White are on pace to  challenge Forte's record.

For the New York Giants, Barkley has 58 catches through his first eight games of the season, which puts him on pace to finish the season with 116 receptions. Barkley has also tallied 497 receiving yards and more than 1,000 all-purpose yards, just past the half-way point in the season.

James White has 61 receptions through nine games, putting him on pace for 108 catches. He's been the Patriots most consistent pass-catcher averaging 8.7 yards per reception and has also reached the end-zone 10 times in 2018.

With two backs, on teams headed in much different directions, on pace to match a single-season record, it shows you just how pass-happy the NFL has become.
