If you ever have the opportunity to add a Drew Brees wide receiver, you take it. The Saints are famously known for airing it out, which means having a New Orleans wideout on your fantasy team is typically a good thing. With Ted Ginn now on IR, this means that either Tre'Quan Smith or Cameron Meredith will become a must-own fantasy asset over the remainder of the NFL season.

But let's see which you should target on your waiver wire.

Tre'Quan Smith: Smith didn't come into this season as a real fantasy threat, but he's certainly carved a name out for himself. Smith's first career touchdown was overshadowed by Brees breaking the passing record on that pass, but his three catches for 111 yards and two scores shouldn't be taken lightly. Last week, he had three more catches for 44 yards and also played 53 offensive snaps. It's not as flashy as his first performance, but it shows he has a place in the Saints' offense -- one that will continue to grow without Ginn in the lineup.

Cameron Meredith: When he was brought in by the Saints this offseason, Meredith had the chance of being a fantasy stud. That's exactly what he was for the Chicago Bears during his second season in the Windy City, tallying 66 catches for 888 yards and four touchdowns in an offense that is nothing compared to the Saints. While he missed all of last season, Meredith has been a high-end fantasy option in the past and being on the receiving end of Brees passes is never a bad thing.

Verdict: The NFL has and always will be a "what have you done for me lately" kind of league. By that standard, you have to go with Smith here. He had six targets while Meredith had zero in Week 7, the first without Ginn, and that is just a peek into the pecking order moving forward. Smith should be a WR3 with WR2 upside as long as he's lined up as the Saints No. 2 wideout.
