Jalen Richard (@RAIDERS) with a 75-yd touchdown on his 1st career rush attempt— ESPN Stats & Info (@ESPNStatsInfo) September 11, 2016
Doug Martin- It's been a few seasons since Martin was a fantasy stud, but he has the chance to do it once again here in Oakland. Before his injury, Lynch was averaging 4.2 yards per carry and Martin is the same kind of runner who can thrive in that bruising role. In a small window, he's averaged 4.5 yards per carry on hthe Raiders. When he gets more touches and those coveted goal-line opportunities that were given to Lynch, he can be a proven asset to your fantasy team.
Verdict- Both deserve to be owned in their own right, but the edge goes to Martin here. He's expected to get the bulk of the goal-line carries, and that's where he can get points. Richard has a chance to break off a big play, but MArtin seems like the safer bet.
Raiders RB Doug Martin expected to handle bulk of carries with Marshawn Lynch (groin) sidelined. Jon Gruden high on him. Believes he’s ready for increased involvement. DeAndre Washington been inactive. Likely now to make season debut behind Jalen Richard.— Michael Gehlken (@GehlkenNFL) October 19, 2018
