The San Francisco 49ers' terrible injury luck struck once again on Sunday. Several players departed their Week 5 win with issues, including cornerback Emmanuel Moseley, who was in obvious pain after going down in the fourth quarter.

San Francisco has now received devastating news on Moseley's status.

An MRI has determined that Moseley did suffer a torn ACL on Sunday. That was the initial fear, and now the CB will need season-ending knee surgery, cutting short a promising campaign.

This update is especially gut-wrenching for Moseley after he went down during his best game of the year. The fifth-year pro recorded two passes defended against the Carolina Panthers and returned an interception 41 yards for a touchdown.

Moseley's season-ending injury just adds to the 49ers' health woes in 2022. Already down several players, Nick Bosa, Jimmie Ward and Robbie Gould all suffered injuries in Week 5. San Francisco's secondary is shorthanded as it is, but they'll now have to make do without Moseley and potentially Ward, who only made his season debut this past Sunday.

The 49ers' health will be a major factor once again heading into a Week 6 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook peg the Niners are 5.5-point road favorites.
