Headlined by last Saturday's 42-13 beatdown loss to heated in-state rival No. 1 Alabama on the road in Tuscaloosa, it's been a less-than-stellar week on The Plains for Auburn fans.

Not only did the Tigers get handled in this year's Iron Bowl, but Bo Nix and company looked to have taken a massive step back compared to last season's performance against the Tide after an inspiring 48-45 upset win.

Unfortunately for the Tigers, things have only gotten worse for this week with news of a de-commitment from 4-Star running back recruit Armoni Goodwin on Monday evening.

While the overall tone of this announcement doesn't scream cutting ties with a future at Auburn, it's never a good sign to see the dreaded "I just want to explore my options" tag in the middle of a de-commitment.

Goodwin boasts an impressive 0.9590 composite rating on top of his 4-Star evaluation, according to 247Sports.com, and comes in as the No. 5 RB in the Class of 2021 and the No. 5 overall recruit in the state of Alabama.

While it's hard to find a silver lining around a de-commitment, Auburn fans should place some stock in the fact that he did commit to Auburn for a reason in the first place, and they also have to like their odds knowing that's he's from in-state in Trussville, Alabama.
