Lions Reveal Plan for D'Andre Swift's Week 10 Workload

Updated:
The health of running back D'Andre Swift continues to be a major story around the Detroit Lions. After missing three games with a shoulder injury, he's seen limited usage in back-to-back contests and seemingly isn't playing at 100%.
Following another quiet day, Detroit has discussed its plans for Swift in Week 10.
Lions head coach Dan Campbell said Swift didn't suffer any setbacks in Sunday's game. After clearing that hurdle, Campbell is "hopeful we can give him a little bit more this week."
Swift once again saw his usage scaled back against the Green Bay Packers, handling just two rushing attempts. He also commanded 4 targets, which he turned into 3 receptions and 40 yards. His carries and targets both were reduced from his first game back in Week 8 (5 attempts, 5 targets) as Campbell felt Detroit used him a little too much in his return.
The shifty running back is a threat to make a play anytime the ball is in his hands, so the Lions would obviously love to have him back at full strength. However, it's clear this will be an extended process to get him up his normal workload.
In the meantime, productive backup Jamaal Williams should continue to carry the rushing load heading into Week 10 against the Chicago Bears. The Lions are 3-point underdogs ahead of that matchup, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
