2014 DFBC Finalist: Twice Is Nice For Cornfins
It’s been less than a year since cornfins began playing on FanDuel. He started during 2013’s football season. Now he’s moved on to his first season of daily fantasy baseball and he’s already locked down two seats in the $3,000,000 DFBC Vegas Final.
How long have you been playing fantasy sports/baseball?
My first fantasy experience was a $50 football league in 1992. Baseball was soon to follow in the spring of 1993. Daily started in September of 2013.
In your opinion, how does daily fantasy compare to season-long?
I love both games. Daily is more addictive. I always found the draft in season long to be my favorite aspect of the game. Daily allows me to draft every night if I wish. Season long injuries and poor drafts will linger for months, daily every day is a new season.
How would you describe your overall approach to drafting?
I start each day with The Las Vegas Line and check the early weather report. Then it’s all about finding value.
Describe the night of your DFBC Qualifier win
The previous night I finished second and I got no sleep after the near miss. This lead to me falling asleep around 11 pm EST the following night. I woke up around 5am and checked Fanduel immediately. I won on a Werth two run single in the top of 9th inning in San Diego.
What are you looking forward to the most about Vegas?
Being a lifelong Oakland A’s fan I’m excited to be meeting Rickey Henderson. Winning the $1,000,000 would slightly trump a Rickey meet-and-greet though.
What would you do with the $1,000,000 if you did win?
Pay for my kid’s college education; take a memorable family vacation; and bankroll my 2014 FanDuel football season. The rest will be invested for our future.
