In addition to being the location of our Daily Fantasy Baseball Championship, Sin City is a collection of some of the finest pleasures known to man. DFBC Finalist theclone, however, won’t be partaking of any of that… at least until Sunday. With seats in the King of the Diamond and a handful of entries still live in the $100K and $200K Survivors in addition to his DFBC seat, theclone plans to spend his time in Vegas focusing on drafting the perfect lineup.

How long have you been playing fantasy sports/baseball

Well, with season-long I’ve been playing for a long time. I started playing daily on FanDuel a little over two years, but I didn’t get very into it until last year.

In your opinion, how does daily fantasy compare to season-long?

I prefer daily. I don’t have anything against season-long, except for the fact that your money is tied up for so long. The nice thing about daily is that if you win, you get your prize right away and can reinvest.

How would you describe your overall approach to drafting?

I make projections for every single player. I’ve always done multiple lineups ever since I’ve started. More recently, I’ve started playing tournaments more heavily which makes it much more important to have multiple lineups.

I rate every player at every position and try to get the players I think are the top three in each position into at least one of my lineups.

Describe the night of your DFBC Qualifier win.

That particular night I got off to a really good start so I was in contention pretty much the whole night. I had something like 25 FD points maybe half an hour into the first game so I felt really good. I was still behind 1st place pretty far into the night. I was in a situation where I had a few Pittsburgh players and that game was rain delayed for a while. I needed that game to get started up again so those players could start performing. Fortunately, the game started up again.

I also had Kershaw who also had the no-hitter. That was a bit anti-climactic for me because I had the Qualifier wrapped up already before he got his no-hitter. On top of that he was pretty heavily owned – I think everyone in the top 13 had him.

What are you looking forward to the most about Vegas?

Honestly, I’ll be spending my entire time there doing research so I can draft the perfect lineups. I’m going to be competing in the KOTD and I’m still live in the Survivors. I probably won’t be able to fully enjoy Vegas until Sunday.

What would you do with the $1,000,000 if you did win

A million is beyond anything I would need for a bankroll. I’d probably just use it to enjoy myself – maybe a new car and a new house.
