LeBron Wants A Sterling-Free NBA (That means you, Shelly)

May 12 1:27pm

LeBron James took a break from wearing gigantic headbands and leading his Heat into battle against the Nets, to once again weigh in on the NBA’s racist uncle, Donald Sterling. James feels that no one in Sterling’s family should own the team, and said “As players, we want what’s right and we don’t feel like no one in his family should be able to own the team”.

Shelly Sterling, Donald’s estranged wife, felt differently while speaking with Barbara Walters on Sunday.

“I will fight that decision,” she told Walters. “To be honest with you, I’m wondering if a wife of one of the owners, and there’s 30 owners, did something like that, said those racial slurs, would they oust the husband? Or would they leave the husband in?”

While I would never defend Donald Sterling in any way, shape, or form, Shelly may have a point here. If LeBron had to pay for the poor decisions of his loved ones, he would be dealing with his mother’s arrests, and her alleged sexual relationship with Delonte West. Although, to be fair, Gloria James’ relationship with West being a poor decision is subjective. I’m sure Delonte has a mom who thinks he’s a real catch.

Anyway, now that everyone has received their daily dose of Donald Sterling, with a side of Delonte West, don’t miss the Heat try and go up 3-1 in their series with the Nets. Tip-off is tonight, at 8pm ET.
