FanDuel NBA Plays for Super Wednesday, January 29th
Welcome to Wednesday Night in the NBA! We have a full slate of NBA games tonight and a whole bunch of cash to give away, including the $110,000 NBA Super Slam. Below I’ve given you some of my favorite plays at varying price ranges. And as a side note, remember that the NBA is volatile as far as injuries and stomach flus and what not, so always be sure to keep up with the latest news so you don’t get stuck with a dud. I prefer to use Twitter for my up to the second information. Here’s a very short list of fantasy basketball people I follow who update that kind of information.
Kyle Lowry ($8,100) Tor vs Orl – Lowry has really stepped up with Demar Derozan out. His last game he put up a huge 30/5/5/5 stat line and with Derozan very iffy once again he should have plenty of upside as he will be the main scoring threat.
D.J. Augustin ($6,500) Chi @ SA – This play of course dependent on Kirk Hinrich being out again. As of this writing he is a game time decision. Augustin has played well as the starter. His price has risen enough to make him borderline sometimes, but the Spurs are reeling from injuries and haven’t been defending the point guard well this season, giving up over 43 FanDuel points to the position this season.
Brian Roberts ($4,600) No @ Min – I, like you, am tired of Roberts doing little after Holliday’s injury, but this matchup coupled with his playing time is enough for me to give him another shot. Over the last 10 games the T-Wolves have given up 44.9 FanDuel points per game to point guards and are second only to Philadelphia in possessions per game. That pace should up Robert’s time with the ball and his fantasy value.
Phil Pressey ($3,600) Phi @ Bos — Pressey will need to play a lot of minutes with Rajon Rondo looking doubtful on back-to-back nights. Those heavy minutes should translate to a lot of time with the ball against the fastest pace team in the league.
Brad Beal ($6,800) Was @ Lac – Beal has been hitting value over the last five games with a 34.3 FD point average and now gets the Clippers who have been giving up the most points to shooting guards over the last ten games at a 42 point per game rate.
Arron Afflalo ($6,300) Orl @ Tor – Afflalo has been up and down this season, but gets a nice matchup at a nice price tonight. The Raptors
Eric Gordon ($6,000) No @ Min — Gordon is coming off his best game of the season against Cleveland and now he gets another great matchup with Minnesota who are giving up over 36 FanDuel points per game. To shooting guards.
Marco Belinelli ($4,600) SA vs Chi – Marco faces his teammate from last season and is one of the few players left standing for the Spurs. His shot was off last night, but he remains one of the best shooters in the league and should once again see 35+ minutes.
Terrence Ross ($4,600) Tor vs Orl – The Magic defense isn’t all that magical and with Derozan out Ross has played well. His point explosion the other night isn’t going to be the norm, but we know what his ceiling is now and if Derozan is out again he’s a great play.
Kevin Durant ($12,400) OKC @ Mia – It’s almost impossible to fade Durant now that Westbrook is on the shelf. This game puts the two best players in the NBA against each other and that should elevate their game even more, if that’s possible. I like Durant a bit more since he is the bulk of the Thunder offense, but James will no doubt bring his A game as well.
Jeff Green ($5,900) Phi @ Bos– Trying to ride the Jeff Green roller coaster has been tough, but the matchup is too good against the Sixers tonight to not give him a go at his price.
Anthony Davis ($9,700) NO @ Min – Davis has been on a tear of late and gets a nice up-tempo game in Minnesota to keep things going. His blocks have been really helping his overall score and at a price under 10k he’s almost an automatic play at this point.
Zach Randolph ($8,000) Mem @ Sac — Zach Randolph gets a dream matchup with the Kings whom he’s posted 35 FPPG against this season in two meetings. He’s also scored at least 40 FPs in three of the last four games he’s played.
Dirk Nowitzki ($8,000) Dal vs Hou – Dirk has played well against Houston this season. He’s been inconsistent, but his floor is usually high enough to not kill you, while his ceiling is in the 50’s, especially in good matchups.
Al Jefferson ($9,100) Cha @ Den — Jefferson should have his way with the Denver frontcourt and JJ Hickson. He’s been putting up 20 shot attempts per game since Kemba Walker was injured and that spells a bunch of fake points for those that start him.
Dwight Howard ($8,800) Hou @ Dal – Howard has been destroying the Mavs this season with an average of 24 points and 14 boards per game. If you take Harden out (GTD) you have an even higher upside. I like him either way for his price.
Ronny Turiaf ($3,500) Min vs NO – This looks like a repeat of Tyler Zeller last night. With Pek out Turiaf should get the start and be able to put up respectable numbers for his price.
