Last season, tender-and-easy FanDueler tendoreezy had the type of lineup he believed could win one of the 2012 FFFC qualifiers. Unfortunately, he says, he waited too long to get his entry in and the qualifiers all filled up (during the Thanksgiving holiday of course). Tendoreezy then eased that lineup into a $2 tournament and, naturally, came in first thanks to Bryce Brown’s 28.9. What could have been!
But where others saw heartbreak, tendoreezy saw opportunity. “Although I blew my chance to win a Qualifier, it made me really believe I could win one this season.” And win he could, taking home first place and a Vegas ticket in the $10 FFFC Week 6 Qualifier.
“Vegas Baby!!! So pumped!”
What is your favorite game time snack?
I used to be more of a junk-food guy, but apples with almond butter. It’s delicious.
Who was your greatest fantasy performer ever?
One of the more memorable ones was Josh Freeman, when my started Tony Romo got injured.*
*2010 NFL season, Week 16, 237 yards, 5 touchdowns.
What is your strategy, describe it?
I don’t go overly scientific. I like to identify two or three players that I’m pretty sure will put up points in their matchup. I’ll also look for one guy who is undervalued. The rest is gut feeling.
If you could change one thing about daily fantasy football, what would it be?
Maybe more Sunday-only leagues, but nothing else.
What song best defines your style of play?
“Started from the Bottom” by Drake
Do you have a sports hero and if so, who?
Pedro Martinez. I’m a Boston guy and watched him growing up. You really appreciate him now that he’s not playing anymore.
If you could describe daily fantasy sports in one word, what would it be?
What do you love about FanDuel; what separates us?
I like the website, how it’s laid out and how it’s improved since last year. The live scoring and the different options and contest types as well.
If you had to compare yourself as a fantasy player to one fictional character, who would it be and why?
Dexter (“in a non-creepy way”). He thinks things all the way through.
What will you do with the $1 million if you win?
First things first, pay off my college loans. Definitely have a party in Vegas with all my friends, we all play fantasy sports together so we’d want to celebrate it. Also, help out my father and maybe help his dream of buying a corvette.
