Bargain Bin: Wednesday, June 22

If you dig around a bit, there are plenty of excellent bargain to be found on FanDuel. I’ve taken a lot of the hard work out of it for you, highlighting several players who are poised to provide great bang for your buck in Wednesday’s games. Whether you’re entered in one of FanDuel’s competitive contests or prepping for a head-to-head battle for cold hard cash, the following players could give you the winning edge.

P – Zach Britton, BAL ($6,400) – The youngster’s sinkerball is awesome, and we haven’t seen his best stuff yet this season. He throws three pitches quite well (Pitch Values – sinker: 4.0, slider: 2.8, change: 5.1) and I like the matchup against the Pirates.

C – Wilson Ramos, WAS ($2,900) – Ramos isn’t blowing anybody away (.251/.326/.404), but he hit a walk-off three-run blast last night in the bottom of the ninth (his sixth HR on the year) and gets to hit in the middle of a potent lineup. He’s developing more power and is a great bargain for under $3K.

1B – Juan Miranda, ARI ($2,800) – Miranda was due for a big game and went 2-4 last night with a double and a run. He should benefit from taking hacks at Royals lefty Jeff Francis’s junk on Wednesday.

2B – Jemile Weeks, OAK ($2,600) – Weeks is batting leadoff for the surging A’s and doing a lot of good things. He’s fast, he can hit, and there’s a solid chance he’s earned an everyday job.

3B – Jeff Baker, CHC ($3,000) – Baker is a streaky hitter who’s healthy again and is starting for the Cubs more regularly. Stay tuned to the lineup cards, but if Baker is in there, he could be a sneaky bargain.

SS – Eduardo Nunez, NYY ($2,700) – Nunez is starting to make some nice defensive plays and getting more confidence at the plate (8-25 with a HR, three walks and a double in his last seven games). He should continue to get starts in Derek Jeter’s absence and benefit from his All-Star surroundings.

LF – Dustin Ackley, SEA ($2,400) – What more can be said about this talented prospect? Ackley arrived on the scene with a bang and continues to produce since his recent call-up. If you’re absolutely positive one of the LF studs is going to rake, then you’ve got a decision on your hands. Aside from that, Ackley’s a no-brainer while his price is this low.

CF – Ben Revere, MIN ($2,700) – Revere had another solid game in the leadoff spot for the Twins last night and should be able to handle journeyman Ryan Vogelsong. I like him for a couple hits, a steal and a run against the Giants.

RF – Jon Jay ($3,000) – He’s 1-3 career of Cliff Lee, and he’s having an excellent year. Don’t worry about the lefty-lefty thing: Jay handles southpaws to the tune of a .405 OBP this season.
