Tuesday Matchups: Gee! He Sure Is Good!
I hope y’all are having fun here at FanDuel and I hope my posts give you some players to look at for your teams. We are still in inter-league play so career matchup numbers are few and far between. So my bread and butter stats fell butter side down, but I’ve got a few morsels today. Hope you enjoy! But not too much! Calories kill!
Dillon Gee: He has yet to lose this season, going 7-0 with a 2.86 ERA. He also has a 1.77 ERA a home vs. a 4.15 ERA on the road. Then he gets the soft hitting A’s at home. And then he gets a 4,500 dollar price tag in FanDuel. You know what that gets me? A lot of high priced hitters in the Tuesday MLB Line Drive!
Jhoulys Chacin: He’s won his last 3 starts and has given up 2 earned runs in that stretch. He faces the Cleveland Indians who in the last month have been the easiest team for FanDuel pitchers to face. They are giving up an average of 13.5 points to pitchers during that stretch. I can’t pronounce or spell his name very easily, but I easily will start him tonight.
Josh Beckett: He has the Christmas morning matchup! The Padres!! Oh, and he is 6-2 with a 1.86 ERA and he’s 2-0 with a 1.17 ERA in Fenway!!! This just in. Beckett is sick and Alfredo Aceves will get the start. Ugh. I would say give Aceves a start here, but I worry about how long he’ll be able to go.
Paul Konerko: The Captain is 8 for his last 21 with 4 homers and faces Matt Garza who he is 3 for 6 against with a homer and 4 RBIs.
Justin Upton: J Up is 16 for his last 29 (.552) with a home run and has hit Luke Hochevar 2 for 5 with 2 doubles.
Chase Headley: Headley has been hitting like a crazed animal with really good hand eye coordination. He is 16 for his last 31 (.516), but he’s also struck out 12 times in that stretch.
Roger Berdina: He is 11 for his last 24 (.458) with 3 home runs. He faces Doug Fister at home and he has been hitting righties well and at home even weller.
Michael Morse: It’s crazy that there are so many Nationals hitting well, but they are! Morse is 9 for his last 24 with 3 homers. He hits righties slightly better than lefties so Fister better be careful!
Jemile Weeks: He’s hitting well and he’s cheap! Well, I don’t know how well he tips or anything, but he is only 2,600 FanDuel fun bucks! He is 9 for his last 23 with 3 doubles.
Alcides Escobar: He is 18 for his last 33 (.545) and is showing no signs of slowing down. I’m not sure what’s gotten into him (spit and possibly vinegar), but you might as well take the ride with him.
