Tuesdays With Cliff Lee

May 31 1:08am

I hope y’all had a great Memorial Day weekend! The FanDuel party bus didn’t stop, but if you did, it is time to jump back on board! Let’s see what we have in the way of matchups today.

Cliff Lee: The Nationals have been the easiest team for FanDuel pitchers to face over the last 30 days, giving up an average of 12.9 FanDuel points to the pitchers lucky enough to face them. Lee is 3-0 with a 1.44 ERA against the Nationals for his career. I believe I’ll start him on my Tuesday Line Drive team.

Eric Bedard: He has gone 3-0 in his last 5 starts and has a 1.09 ERA in that stretch. He’s also pitched 15 straight scoreless innings. And here’s the best news, he costs 4,400 FanDuel Fun Bucks! I like Cliff Lee’s matchup better, but it’s hard to beat the price!

Jhonny Peralta: Jhon batted .347 in May with 7 home runs and he’s also 4 for 11 off Brian Duensing. And that happens to be who he is facing.

Victor Martinez: He hit a home run yesterday and is as reliable a catcher as you can purchase in the duel of fans. He’s batting 1.000 against Duensing. (He’s also only faced him once)

Mark Teixeira: Big Tex has been hitting well lately, going 8 for his last 25 with 3 home runs. He also kills Brett Anderson at a 6 for 12 pace with a home run and 6 RBIs.

Franklin Gutierrez: Fragu has been hitting well since returning from the DL. He’s gone 9 for his last 26 and he has hit Jeremy Guthrie 4 out of 9 times with a homer.

Raul Ibanez: He is 10 for his last 33 with 3 homers, 9 RBIs, and 7 runs scored. He is also 7 for 19 off Jason Marquis with 2 homers and 8 ribbies.

Domonic Brown: Brown is 8 for his last 15. That’s darn good! and he bats .500 against Marquis! (in 2 at bats)

Brian McCann: McCann is 8 for his last 16 and is 3 for 9 off Mat Latos, with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs.

Joey Votto: JV is quietly hitting .330 on the season. His power numbers are lagging behind his ability, but as the weather warms the ball should really start jumping out of GABP.  He has hit Zach Greinke well, going 2 for 4 with 2 homers off him.

Jose Reyes: The guy is playing for the cash and that carrot he’s chasing is working. He is 14 for his last 27 and has had multi-hit games in 7 of his last 8! He is 2 for 6 off James McDonald and is just plain hard to stop right now. (UPDATE: He’s on bereavement leave, should be back on Thursday)

Carlos Gonzalez: Cargo owns Ted Lilly to the tune of 4 for 6 with 3 home runs. He also has a 10 game hitting streak going. Run, don’t walk, to your nearest FanDuel lineup and put him in it!
