The Seahawks waived Johnson on Monday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
What it means:
Johnson signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Seahawks in mid-May, but he's been let go ahead of mandatory minicamp. During his final campaign at East Carolina, the 6-foot-1 wideout caught 67 passes for 1,016 yards and 10 touchdowns.

The Seahawks released Merrill on Friday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
What it means:
Merrill will head to waivers despite having just signed with Seattle back in May. The 26-year-old spent the past two years with the Chargers and missed the entirety of last season with an undisclosed injury. Merrill will now look to catch on with another and compete for a roster spot.

Bumphus (undisclosed) reverted to injured reserve Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
What it means:
Bumphus will now stick around with the Seahawks after being waived-injured on June 1st. The 23-year-old had signed with the team as an undrafted free agent and will now look to get healthy and possibly return later in the season.

Head coach Pete Carroll announced that Lucas (shoulder) is expected to be healthy for the start of training camp, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
What it means:
Lucas is nearing his return after receiving shoulder surgery earlier in the offseason. The 24-year-old started all but one of Seattle's games last season as well as their wild-card loss to the 49ers and should be expected to have a similar role during the upcoming campaign.

Bumphus (undisclosed) was waived by the Seahawks on Thursday with an injury designation, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
What it means:
Bumphus participated in the Giants' rookie minicamp before signing with the Seahawks on May 22. He's currently nursing an undisclosed injury that the Seahawks reported when letting him go. The undrafted free agent recorded 21 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss in his final year at Tennessee.

Woolen (knee) is expected to return to practice in 4-to-6 weeks, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
What it means:
Woolen is recovering from a knee surgery, which he underwent to repair a cartilage issue. Even if he comes back on the long end of the timetable, he'll still have ample time to get ready for the 2023 campaign. The cornerback had a very impressive rookie season in 2022, recording 63 tackles, 16 pass deflections, six interceptions and two fumble recoveries while scoring also scoring a defensive touchdown.
