Between the Lines: Week 6 Snap Count Analysis
Snap counts can give us vital information about which players could pop in future weeks. Who should we be watching after Week 6?
Marcedes Lewis Status
rotoWire
Lewis was targeted seven times and caught six passes for 66 yards and two touchdowns over 17 appearances in the 2022 season.
What it means:
The 38-year-old made little fantasy impact in his 17th season, but he did play at least 41 percent of offensive snaps for a fourth year in a row. Lewis remains a trusty blocker at the tight end position, and if he elects to continue playing, the free agent will likely land a roster spot in Green Bay or elsewhere.
rotoWire
Lewis caught both his targets for 32 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-20 win over the Dolphins.
What it means:
While he didn't see big volume, the veteran tight end made a huge impact for the Packers. Lewis's first catch of the day gave Green Bay its first TD of the day on a one-yard strike from Aaron Rodgers, while his second reception went for 31 yards and set the team up in the red zone for an eventual AJ Dillon one-yard scoring plunge. Lewis has two touchdowns on the season -- the 10th time in his 17-year career he's scored multiple TDs -- but this was the first time in 2022 he's seen more than one target in a game.
rotoWire
Lewis was targeted once and caught one pass for 14 yards in Monday's 24-12 victory over the Rams.
What it means:
Lewis played at least 41 percent of the snaps for a second straight game and caught his first pass since Week 10. He has a plus matchup in Week 16 against the Dolphins, but with just four receptions and 34 yards on the season, there is little reason to believe he will do enough to make a fantasy impact.
rotoWire
Lewis was targeted once and caught one pass for two yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-22 loss to the Giants.
What it means:
The reception was the first Lewis recorded in 2022, and the touchdown was his first since Week 12 of the 2020 season. Lewis led Packers tight ends in snaps in Week 5, but with blocking being his primary purpose on the field, his fantasy appeal remains limited.
rotoWire
Lewis doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's contest against the Patriots, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
What it means:
Lewis didn't practice Thursday and was limited Wednesday and Friday, but the veteran tight end will still be available for Week 4. The 2006 first-round pick has yet to be targeted this season despite playing over 35 percent of the team's offensive snaps in each of the first three games.
rotoWire
Lewis (groin) is active Sunday against the Buccaneers, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports.
What it means:
Lewis logged limited practices Wednesday and Friday with a DNP on Thursday. The veteran tight end has yet to be targeted this season despite playing 38 and 47 percent of the offensive snaps in the first two weeks respectively.
