Bucs' Le'Veon Bell in line for potential lead back role in Week 18
What it means:
Greg Auman of The Athletic reports that Le'Veon Bell is the last remaining healthy running back on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' roster after their Week 17 win against the New York Jets.
Bell could be the last man standing as the Bucs head into their final game of the season, with all of Leonard Fournette (hamstring, injured reserve), Ronald Jones (ankle), and Ke'Shawn Vaughn (ribs) out or in danger of missing Week 18. Bell was only just recently signed, but could already be in line for a major workload against the Carolina Panthers.
Bell had a stronger showing in Week 17 than he did in his brief tenure with the Baltimore Ravens earlier this season; while he only took his 3 carries for 5 yards, he did convert his 3 targets into 3 catches for 30 yards. Bell was formerly known for his heavy involvement in the Pittsburgh Steelers' passing game, and could be in line for a surprising workload in Week 18 if Jones and Vaughn sit out.
