Kareem Hunt Status
rotoWire
Hunt had four carries for 13 yards and caught three of four targets for 15 yards in Sunday's 28-14 loss to Pittsburgh in Week 18.
What it means:
Hunt returned to Sunday's game in the second half after being evaluated for a head injury. In terms of combined yards, his 28 were the most since Week 13. What started as an effort to make Hunt and Nick Chubb work as a tandem backfield devolved as Cleveland's season went sideways. A healthy Chubb was expected to cap Hunt's opportunities, but the Deshaun Watson-less Browns fell into a funk, and the Ohio native saw his touches diminish over the second half of the season. Hunt averaged 12 touches per contest over the first eight weeks but dropped to seven over the final nine games. The six-year veteran enters free agency this offseason, and there's a strong chance Hunt hits the open market beginning March 15 at 4:00 PM.
rotoWire
Hunt returned to Sunday's game against the Steelers, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
What it means:
Hunt briefly left Sunday's game to get evaluated for a head injury, but he's presumably cleared concussion protocol and has returned to the contest. Before leaving, he totaled three rushing attempts for 10 yards and caught all three of his targets for 15 receiving yards.
rotoWire
Hunt is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Steelers due to a head injury, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.
What it means:
Prior to exiting the contest, Hunt had carried three times for 10 yards and caught all three of his targets for 15 yards while working behind Cleveland's top back, Nick Chubb.
rotoWire
Hunt had two carries for zero yards and caught is only target for minus-1 yard in Sunday's 24-10 win over the Commanders in Week 17.
What it means:
This was a season-low in touches and yards for Hunt, who played 18 snaps for a 32-percent share in what could have been his penultimate game in a Browns uniform. His contract is up after this season, and the organization appears to have shifted to the future after it was eliminated from the postseason in Week 16. Rookie running back Jerome Ford was given a season-high seven snaps and had five carries for nine yards.
rotoWire
Hunt rushed seven times for eight yards and brought in all three targets for 14 yards in the Browns' 17-10 loss to the Saints on Saturday.
What it means:
The weather was conducive to a big workload for the ground attack, but Hunt still logged 17 fewer carries than backfield mate Nick Chubb. The veteran back's carry total was his second highest since Week 5 and his catch tally a high-water mark since Week 8, but Hunt's game-to-game workload is anything but trustworthy heading into a Week 17 road matchup against the Commanders on Sunday, Jan. 1.
rotoWire
Hunt had four carries for 24 yards and caught his lone target for three yards in Saturday's 13-3 win over the Ravens in Week 15.
What it means:
Hunt's five touches were the second fewest of the season, and he was held to under 30 combined yards for the third time in the last four games. The 27-year-old back hasn't found the end zone since Week 7.
